Senior Respiratory
Therapy

Respiratory support that helps older adults breathe more comfortably and use home equipment safely.

What We Do

Respiratory therapy assists older adults with chronic lung disease, oxygen, airway-clearance needs, breathing treatments, and respiratory equipment. Education helps patients and caregivers recognize changes early and manage daily respiratory routines more confidently.

Who This Service Is For

We support pediatric patients with a wide range of diagnoses, functional needs, and medical complexities. Common populations may include:

Older adults with COPD, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, or chronic respiratory failure

Older adults who use oxygen, nebulizers, PAP therapy, suction, or other respiratory equipment

Older adults with neuromuscular or neurological conditions affecting breathing

Older adults returning home after pneumonia, respiratory illness, or hospitalization

Areas of Focus

  • Respiratory assessment, oxygen saturation, breath sounds, and work of breathing
  • Oxygen equipment, nebulizer, inhaler, spacer, and humidification education
  • Airway clearance, controlled coughing, suctioning, and secretion management
  • Breathing exercises, pacing, and energy-conservation techniques
  • CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy, or ventilator equipment support when ordered
  • Equipment cleaning, infection prevention, fire safety, and emergency planning

Specialized Care May Include
