What Is CPR?
CRP stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, a critical life-saving technique used in emergencies where someone’s heart has stopped beating or they are not breathing. During CPR, chest compressions are combined with rescue breaths to manually circulate oxygenated blood to vital organs until professional medical help arrives. CPR can be performed on adults, children, and infants, with slight variations in technique for each age group.
Immediate Response
CPR should be initiated as soon as possible when someone is unresponsive and not breathing normally. Time is of the essence, and early intervention can significantly improve the chances of survival.
Simple and Effective
CPR techniques are designed to be simple and easy to remember, making it accessible to people of all backgrounds and skill levels. Even basic CPR performed by a bystander can make a life-saving difference in an emergency situation.
Integration with AEDs
CPR often goes hand-in-hand with the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). AEDs are portable devices that can analyze a person's heart rhythm and deliver an electric shock if necessary to restore a normal heartbeat.
